Freedom of Information (FoI) Request

It is not possible to determine the number of people admitted specifically for "attempted suicide" from data we can extract from the clinical record. The reasons for admission are mapped to NHS England's National definitions in line with the Data Requirements of the Mental Health Services Data Set (MHSDS) which are as follows: - Assessment and treatment of Mental Health problems - Assessment of Mental Health problems - Detention under the MHA - Planned admission for change(s) in treatment - Relapse Prevention - Respite for Family/Carer(s) - Short Term Crisis Management - Short Term Respite Care - Treatment for relapse/deterioration of mental health Can you please confirm if you still require data and if so for which of the above categories? For clarification, any data provided under the above categories does not mean the admission was for attempted suicide, to determine this each admission would need to be manually reviewed which would exceed the time and cost permissible under the FOI guidance.
